Importance of Panchang.

A seed sowed before monsoon is very likely to give good results.
Whereas a seed sowed at odd times is waste.

There are Rahu Kaals, Amrit Kaals etc. in Panchaang.
A person referring Panchaang & then doing new tasks never repents says some experts.
Especially the farmers
If they refer Panchaang and then sow seeds, they prosper.

But due to keeping this knowledge secret & also all being not experts, it cannot be utilised in the interest of society as required. As per few beliefs.

It is said the planet's governance whether favourable or unfavourable to us can be known from Panchaang.

Shri Vishnu Sahastranama

Lakshmi Narayana

By Anant Shivaji Desai Press [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

1. Om Vishvasmai namah

Vishwa means world
Asmi means I am
Vishvasmai means I m the world
I worship to that Lord Vishnu who is this world.
I worship to that Lord Vishnu who says that I m this world
The universe or endless space is the mind of Lord Vishnu & we are all his thoughts.
So that way I worship to that Lord Vishnu who is in the form of this world
I worship the world form of Lord Vishnu.
The whole world is a body of Lord Vishnu.
The whole world is a form of Lord Vishnu.

2. Om Vishnave namah

Vishnave means Lord Vishnu. When Creator started making creations, Lord Vishnu took the work of looking after, caring, preserving them. He is Prime among the 3 powers that rules the univere. The Creator, The Preserver & The Destroyer. Here Lord Vishnu is the Preserver of this world.

3. Om Vashatakaaraya namah
4. Om Bhuthabhavyabhavathprabhave namah
5. Om Bhutakrte namah
6. Om Bhutabhrte namah
7. Om Bhaavaya namah

Bhaav means feelings. If you notice a feeling in someone & it touches your heart. Then that means the Lord Vishnu's powers are dwelling for that much time in that individual. So feelings is a form of Lord Vishnu. Those feelings which touch our heart.

8. Om Bhutatmane namah
9. Om Bhutabhaavanaaya namah
10. Om Putaatmane namah

11. Om Paramaatmane namah

Parmatma means Supersoul. There are people who believe in souls, ghosts, heavens etc. But they do not believe in God. They believe in Creator Deity. But they say that all present God is imagination. The deepest truth is Soul & Nature. There is no God beyond this. However Parmatma means Supersoul. As per this concept, within every soul there is a God residing deep within. Lord Vishnu is that Supersoul. This means that if such a supersoul must be existing within every soul then He must be definitely as sweet and caring & beautiful & mighty like the Deity Lord Vishnu.

12. Om Muktaanam Paramayai Gataye namah

Mukt means free
Muktaanam means Free souls
Muktaanam means Free spirits
Free spirits means clear spirits
Free spirits means divine spirits
Paramayai means the final
Paramayai means the last
Gataye means destination
Gataye means the way
Gataye means the path
Gataye means the route

I worship that Lord Vishnu who is the final destination of the free souls
I bow down to that Lord Vishnu who is the final destination of the free souls

13. Om Avyayaaya namah

14. Om Purushaaya namah

Purusha means male
Purusha means the Man
Purusha means the Complete Man
Purusha means the creature with superior male instincts
Purusha means the living being with noticeable male instincts
Purusha means the living being with very attractive male instincts
Purusha means the male towards whom the female feel attractiveness
Purusha means the man who is not an animal
Purusha means the man who has controlled his senses so women & children feel a deep sense of respect towards Purusha
Usually Man is also an animal but when a hero comes out of that man than that hero part is Purusha
Purusha is the defender of woman & children
Purusha is the male form of Lord Vishnu
Hence father is considered to be the male form or Purusha form of Lord Vishnu bcos he defends his family, fights for their rights thereby exhibiting characters of a Purusha instead of self satisfying & living like an animal.

I worship that Lord Vishnu who is a Purusha

15. Om Saakshine namah

Lord Vishnu is witness of everyone's sin & good deeds. Lord Shiva praises Lord Vishnu saying your tolerance is uncomparable. The way you tolerate peacefully everyone's sin, it is difficult for us to tolerate.

16. Om Kshethrajnaaya namah
17. Om Aksharaaya namah

Akshar means Eternal. Lord Vishnu is Eternal. Eternal means that which has no end & no death.

18. Om Yogaaya namah
19. Om Yogavidaam netre namah
20. Om Pradhanapurusheshwaraaya namah
21. Om Naarasimhavapushe namah
22. Om Srimathe namah
23. Om Keshavaaya namah
24. Om Purushottamaaya namah
25. 0m Sarvasmai namah
26. Om Sharvaya namah
27. Om Shivaya namah
28. Om Sthanave namah
29. Om Bhutaadaye namah
30. Om Nidhayevyayaaya namah
31. Om Sambhavaya namah
32. Om Bhaavanaaya namah
33. Om Bhartre namah
34. Om Prabhavaaya namah
35. Om Prabhave namah
36. Om Ishvaraaya namah
37. Om Svayambhuve namah
38. Om Shambhave namah
39. Om Aadityaaya namah
40. Om Puskaraakshaaya namah
41. Om Mahasvanaaya namah
42. Om Anaadinidhanaaya namah
43. Om Dhaatre namah
44. Om Vidhaatre namah
45. Om Dhaatave uttamaaya namah
46. Om Aprameyaya namah
47. Om Hrishikeshaya namah

Hrishikesh means one who is a master of senses
Usually average people are a slave to their senses
Those people not following religion are more or less like animals bcos they have no Niyams
Niyams are restrictions given in Vedas to control senses.
Thereby Niyams help us to minimize the animal part within us.
Final motive of these Niyams is to make us Hrishikesh - the master of senses

I bow down to that Lord Vishnu who is the master of the senses
I worship that Lord Vishnu who is the master of senses.

48. Om Padmanabhaaya namah

Padma means Lotus
Nabha means Navel
I worship that Lord Vishnu who had a Lotus in his Navel
From this Lotus did Lord Brahma emerged.
Lord Brahma created the trees, animals,Humans, heavenly gods, ghosts, demons, insects, planets, mountains etc.
In other words Lord Brahma is the Creator
Lord Brahma is the real God
If there is any real God he is no other than Lord Brahma
But Lord Vishnu is told to be the one from whom Lord Brahma emerged.

Aushadh means Medicine
I worship that Lord Vishnu who is Medicine
I worship that Lord Vishnu who is like a Medicine
I worship that Lord Vishnu whose effect on us is just like the effect of medicine on diseased souls.
Medicine is a form of Lord Vishnu
Medicine fights against illness
That way Lord Vishnu protects against all ills
Lord Vishnu is like a medicine who protects his devotees from all sorts of illness.
His worship practice might sound bitter to the starters all attached in the glitters of the material world but the results are good and that is freedom from all sorts of ills & gain of a clear & pure soul which glitters like gold, which shines like a diamond, a cute soul who is desired by almost everyone, a soul having a heart of gold.
Lord Vishnu freeds us from all ills so he is a Medicine
Lord Vishnu freeds us from all internal & external diseases so He is a Medicine
