Can people die from dengue fever?
1) People who suffer from dengue fever have no risk of death but rarely some of them may develop Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) or Dengue Shock Syndrome(DSS).
2) Patients suspected to be suffering from DHF/DSS should be admitted to a hospital without delay.
3) Infants and young children are more likely than adults to develop DHF/DSS or manifestations of severe clinical illness. Parents need to be vigilant.
4) With proper treatment, the patients with Dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome can recover fully.
