Reason - Laser puts holes in missiles or planes coming which takes time but Kali emits powerful pulses of REB (Relativistic electron beam) and destroys target in short time

Kali project mooted by - R Chidambaram - Director of BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research center)

Versions developed - KALI 80, KALI 200, KALI 1000, KALI 5000 , KALI 10000

Problems - Are very bulky. Kali 5000 weighs 10 tons and Kali 10000 weighs 26 tons. Recharging time is too long hence not a viable weapon. Requires cooling tank of 12000 ltrs of oil
