As per Ayurveda, if you have heat in body, it can come out in form of swellings or baldness. If you have cough and cold, taking cold food will worsen your situation. And taking hot food helps in recovery.
Those who want to avoid untimely baldness as per this principle should avoid intake of excessive hot food as far as possible. Taking balanced hot food and cold food is OK.
If excessive hot food is taken, body releases heat (baldness, swelling, perspiration from legs etc) and if excessive cold food is taken, body loses heat and may get minor cough and cold which can later become major, if ignored.
Just as heat is hidden in limestone and gets appeared in water, that way heat and cold is hidden in this food and gets appeared after eating that food.
Although modern science disagrees that moon is source of coldness, myths say Sun imparts heat and Moon imparts coldness especially to medicinal herbs. Without moon's light they may not survive.

As per biology, baldness comes due to genetic heredity. However as per Ayurveda, baldness in young age before fifties or sixties can be due to excessive heat which is hidden in foods.
