In Mahabharata, Pandavas lived as Brahmins. Once they entered a Mayavi forest to save them from the sight of Ashwatthama.

The Mayavi forest had no sun as it was very dense. The Pandavas tried to cross it but everytime ended up at that point from where they had started.

So yes, it might be possible that the cannon Naagin was too big, may be first of its kind and may be even last of its kind, and it could had shooting range upto 35 Kms or more.

So quite possible, that the cannon was capable to shoot, from Sinhgadh fort to Raigadh fort. The possibility cannot be denied.

So Tanhajis struggle to fail the Naagin was not a vain decision. Their concerns were serious as it is quite possible that during those days the weapon dealers made such a far shooting cannon and it's shooting capability was not a rumour tactic of Mughals to panic the Marathas.
